2 Firefighters Hurt In Attleboro Fire
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries while working to extinguish a house fire in Attleboro.
ATTLEBORO, MA — Two firefighters suffered minor injuries Thursday morning while working to put out a house fire in Attleboro. The fire was reported around 11 a.m. Thursday, at 91 Wamsutta Road. No one was home when the fire started, and the American Red Cross is working with the residents to find alternative housing, as the home sustained too much damage to be occupied, according to the Fire Department.
Fire officials say the fire was already active when firefighters arrived. Attleboro firefighters worked to extinguish the flames for about an hour, with Seekonk and Pawtucket firefighters providing mutual aid. Firefighters then remained at the home, locating and eliminating hot spots to ensure the fire does not re-ignite.
Two firefighters were taken to area hospitals after suffering minor injuries.
