Man Allegedly Approaches Young Student

Brennan Middle School principal Karen Saltzman sent a note about the incident to parents.

A girl says she was approached Monday morning on her way to school by a stranger that "tried to entice her to go with him," according to a note sent to parents from school principal Karen Saltzman. An automated phone call about the incident was also made to the homes of students.

Saltzman's note says the is investigating the incident. The department could not immediately be reached for comment.

"The student ignored the stranger and continued on to school without incident," Saltzman wrote.

She added, "This is a good time to remind all students to walk in groups, to not talk with strangers and to report any event out of the ordinary to a trusted adult."
