Scout Collects Items for Women's Shelter

Seekonk resident Ryan Proulx needs canned food and women's jackets for a poor and homeless women's shelter in Boston.

For his Eagle Scout service project, Ryan Prouix of Boy Scout Troop 1 Seekonk is collecting items to support Rosie's Place, a shelter for poor and homeless women located in Boston.

"Besides providing food and other necessities for women, Rosie's Place also provides a safe place to live for women who do stay," Prouix wrote in an email to Attleboro-Seekonk Patch. "My goal is to collect 500 pounds of food and 30 jackets by the beginning of April."

The Eagle Scout hopeful has placed collection boxes at , ,  and the on Newman Avenue. They will remain there until April 13. Those interested in giving their items directly to Prouix can contact him at ryan.proulx94@gmail.com or gregproulx@verizon.net.
