Another Cape Cod Steamship Authority Ferry Breaks Down
The Steamship Authority said its ferry "Nantucket" lost power to one of its engines during a run from Hyannis to Nantucket.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Yet another ferry operated by the Steamship Authority broke down Tuesday night. The ferry "Nantucket" lost power on one of its main engines while on a run from Hyannis to Nantucket at about 7:45 p.m. The vessel was able to make it to Nantucket on another engine. The ferry was taken out of service for a Coast Guard inspection.
Several Steamship Authority vessels have experienced similar issues over the last few months.
In March, the ferry "Martha's Vineyard" lost power during a run to Falmouth and had to be towed. In May, the vessel lost power again on another Falmouth run.
