Cape Cod Man With 72 Charges Arrested Again

Cape Cod police said Richard Mayo was arrested after he was caught on video trying to break into a truck.

YARMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod man with 72 charges on his record was arrested again Thursday, according to police. Richard Mayo, 24, of Yarmouth, was charged with attempting breaking and entering after police said he was caught on video trying to break into a truck in Yarmouth on Evergreen Street. The truck owner used his iPhone to film the attempted break-in, which led to Mayo's arrest, police said.

Police said officers who responded to the victim's home encountered Mayo on Spruce Street and he told the officers he was "out for a walk." At the time, Mayo had two warrants for breaking and entering in Barnstable, police said.

"While attempting to place Mayo in to the police cruiser, Mayo became combative and made several threats," Yarmouth police said in a statement.
