Cape Cod Police: Child Rape Fugitive Arrested
Police said Joseph Rhodes, of Virginia, had a warrant for child rape.
YARMOUTH, MA — A Virginia fugitive wanted on a child rape charge was arrested on Cape Cod Tuesday, police said. Joseph Rhodes, 31, was tracked down to a Yarmouth residence on West Yarmouth Road. Police arrested him Tuesday afternoon.
Rhodes' rape charge was out of Virginia Beach. Police said he was held in custody Wednesday and will soon be transferred to Virginia Beach authorities.
"The Yarmouth Police Department Command Staff commends the teamwork of Yarmouth Police Detectives, Proactive Anti-Crime Unity Officers, and the Virginia Beach, Police Department for identifying and promptly removing a reported child sex offender from our community," Yarmouth police said in a statement.
