The incident, described a as domestic disturbance, happened on Long Pond Drive at about 9:30 p.m. Police said a caller reported the fight involved knives and a gun, with shots fired.

The SWAT team responded to the residence after one individual walked in the home and locked the door. The individual surrendered about 15 minutes later, police said.

"The sound of gunshots was determined to have been coming from a backfiring motorcycle that was being operated by a resident of the house," Harwich police said in a statement. "Several of the involved were highly intoxicated which is believed to have played a role in the incident."
