Cape Cod Woman Dragged Into Woods, Sexually Assaulted: Cops
Mashpee police are asking the public's help finding a man who sexually assaulted a woman out for a walk.

MASHPEE, MA — A Cape Cod woman walking in Mashpee Wednesday night was attacked by a man, dragged into the woods and sexually assaulted, according to police. The suspect is at large and police are asking the public's help for information. The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. in the area of Commercial Street near the Community Health Center of Cape Cod, police said.
The suspect was described as tall black man in his 40s wearing a dark coat. The victim is a woman in her early 30s.
"She was approached by a suspect who grabbed her wrist and dragged her into the woods," Mashpee police said in a statement. "The victim, who was sexually assaulted, was able to fight the suspect off. The suspect ran off into the woods."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mashpee police at 508-539-1480.
Police said officers and a Barnstable County Sheriff's Department K-9 unit scoured the area but could not find the suspect.
