1. Explore all that is Hyannis and kick off the day with a visit to the . It’s now open Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.  

 2. After touring the JFK museum, take a walk to the Steamship Authority or to the and watch the island ferries depart and arrive. You will be surprised at the number of day-trippers who are in town. You might bump into a friend or two who you haven’t seen in a while, on his or her daily commute to Nantucket.

3. The rules that apply to sausages do not apply to potato chips. Take a self-guided tour of the on 100 Breed’s Hill Road. The factory is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  

 4. No matter what your age and skill level, there is a skating program for you at the , 141 Basset Lane, Barnstable. Afraid of frozen water? Walk around the indoor walking track.

 5. Stroll down Main Street Hyannis and enjoy shopping in the town’s shops  and boutiques, many offering unique items.
