Fatal Barnstable Fire: Victim ID'd As Elderly Man

BARNSTABLE, MA — An elderly man was killed in a fire at a Barnstable residence Friday night. The victim was identified as Owen Duff, 86. Firefighters pulled Duff from the Millway home and transported him to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation Monday, according to state Fire Marshal spokeswoman Jennifer Mieth.

The blaze broke out at about 9 p.m. A Barnstable fire official told CBS Boston flames were pouring out the home's first and second floors when firefighters arrived.
