Hyannis Home Invasion: 2 Guns Seized, Police Say
Barnstable police said five people organized an armed home invasion in Hyannis on General Patton Drive.

BARNSTABLE, MA — Barnstable police said they seized two guns, handcuffs and other evidence related to a home invasion in Hyannis Monday. Five people were arrested in connection with the incident. All were held without bail pending dangerousness hearings March 30 in Barnstable District Court.
The home invasion happened on General Patton Drive, police said.
"The assailants entered the home and announced 'Barnstable Police,'" Barnstable police said in a statement. "They brandished firearms and assaulted several of the occupants ... The suspects then fled in a black SUV which was intercepted by responding officers."

The accused assailants found in the vehicle were identified as Derek Burden, Vedel Haynes and Dayshaun Tatum, all of Plymouth; and Dehkwon Marshall-Rabb, of Barnstable. Also arrested was Jennifer Schaaf, of Hyannis. Police said she was in the residence at the time of the robbery and pretended to be a victim.
"It was later revealed that she participated in the planning of the event," police said.

On Tuesday, officers searched the vehicle and found a .38-caliber handgun, replica 9mm handgun, ammunition, masks, gloves, handcuffs and items stolen from the residence, police said.
