YARMOUTH, MA — A Hyannis man with 79 criminal charges on his record was arrested again over the weekend, police said Monday. Michael James, 45, was taken into custody during a traffic stop in Yarmouth Saturday morning on Long Pond Drive. Police said he had six warrants involving charges ranging from drug possession to resisting arrest.

Police said James was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman without a license.

"When she opened the glove compartment, (an officer) observed several boxes of Suboxone tablets in the glove box," Yarmouth police said in a statement. "A check of inside the vehicle revealed a crack pipe, scales, as well as the Suboxone boxes prescribed to the owner of the vehicle, who was not inside the vehicle."
