Hyannis Man Hit By SUV, Medflighted: Police

Barnstable police said an 88-year-old Hyannis man crossing South Street was struck by a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old Carver man.

BARNSTABLE, MA — An 88-year-old Hyannis man was seriously injured Saturday morning after police said he was struck by a sport utility vehicle while crossing the street. Police said the man was crossing South Street near Sea Street when a 79-year-old Carver man driving a Chevrolet Trax rental crashed into him. The Hyannis man was medflighted to Rhode Island Hospital.

"The cause of the accident is currently under investigation, and no citations have been issued at this time," Barnstable police said in a statement.
