Pilot Killed In Plane Crash On Cape Cod: Authorities
The plane caught fire and the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.

PROVINCETOWN, MA — The pilot of a small plane was killed in connection with a crash Sunday on Cape Cod, authorities said.
The private aircraft crashed around 3:15 p.m., with only the pilot aboard, at Provincetown Municipal Airport, according to a social media post from the town.
The plane caught fire and the blaze was extinguished by emergency personnel, authorities said, adding the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene.

The aircraft was a Cessna 172N, according to the National Transportation Safety Board, which is investigating the crash.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the Massachusetts State Police were also notified, authorities said, adding the airport was closed as of Sunday afternoon and people were asked to stay clear of the area.
