Police Catch Alleged TD Bank Robber
TD Bank on Rte. 28 in Centerville was robbed today at 1:30 p.m. By 3:30 p.m. the suspect was apprehended.

Using old fashioned detective work, Barnstable police officers captured a Centerville man hours after he allegedly robbed on Rte. 28 in Centerville today.
At 1:30 p.m. today, Michael Nobre, 48, of Centerville, allegedly walked into TD Bank, approached one of the tellers, and presented a note demanding cash, according to a Barnstable Police Department press release.
The note also indicated that the suspect had a gun, although one was not shown, said police. Nobre was allegedly given a quantity of cash and immediately left the bank.

A retired Barnstable police officer and other witnesses to the alleged robbery were able to provide detectives with a detailed description of the suspect, described as a white male, in his 40’s, approx 6’ tall and weighing over 300 lbs., according to the press release.
From the bank’s surveillance video, detectives were able to obtain a digital photograph of the suspect. Detectives and Street Crime Unit members began to canvas the surrounding area and businesses with the suspect’s photo. This ultimately led to the identity of the suspect, Michael Nobre, stated the press release.

Detective John York subsequently obtained a Barnstable District Court arrest warrant charging Nobre with Armed Robbery.
“At approximately 3:30 pm, detectives and SCU members arrested Nobre at his Centerville residence,” said the release.
The cash taken in the robbery was recovered. Nobre will be held at the Barnstable Police Department until his arraignment in Barnstable District Court tomorrow.
