Triple DUI Cape Cod Fugitive Caught In Basement: Police
Cape Cod police said Joshua Brooks has been charged with drunk driving five times. He was acquitted in two cases.

YARMOUTH, MA — Cape Cod police on Thursday arrested a fugitive charged with his third drunk-driving offense. Joshua Brooks, 34, of Yarmouth, was arrested Saturday in his hometown. Police said he was driving drunk in his Dodge Ram when he blew a stop sign on Buck Island Road and came within "inches" of hitting a police officer in his cruiser.
Brooks appeared at Barnstable District Court Monday and paid his $540 bail but failed to complete his arraignment and left the court. Police issued a warrant for his arrest and on Thursday tracked him down to a basement in a Yarmouthport residence, where he was arrested.
Brooks has a "long criminal record" that now includes five drunk-driving charges, police said. He was acquitted in two cases.
