Yarmouth Police Vigil For Fallen Officer Sean Gannon
Yarmouth police will hold a candlelight vigil for K-9 Officer Sean Gannon, who was shot and killed while searching for a career criminal.

YARMOUTH, MA — Yarmouth police will hold a candlelight vigil Saturday night for fallen K-9 Officer Sean Gannon. Gannon, 32, was shot and killed while searching for a man with more than 100 criminal charges in Barnstable Thursday. The vigil is set for Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Yarmouth Police Department on Higgins Crowell Road.
"All are welcome and urged to attend as we express of love for Officer Gannon and his family as we grieve together as one," Yarmouth police said in a statement.

The accused shooter, Thomas Latanowich, 29, of Somerville, was charged with murder. He pleaded not guilty Friday and was held without bail. Police said Latanowich also shot Gannon's police dog Nero. The animal survived surgery and was recovering Friday.
