Five Things: Beacon Hill Democrats to Meet

And more to know today, Sept. 14.

1. Area Dems to Meet: The next meeting of the Boston Ward 5 Democratic Committee will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Community Church, 565 Boylston St. (above The Globe Restaurant). During the meeting, committee members will consider endorsements in a number of races, and numerous candidates have been invited. The group will also set the schedule for activities leading into the general election.

2. The New Babylon: Considered to be a highlight of Soviet silent film era, The New Babylon is the final work from Grigori Kozintsev and Leonid Trauberg’s final silent work at 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount Center. 

3. BELL Homecoming 2012: Building Educated Leaders for Life is hosting a Homecoming party to support BELL’s nonprofit program of summer and after school programs for kids. Cost of admission is $75.

4. Babette’s Feast: ArtsEmerson is hosting this Academy Award winning film at 9 p.m. at the Paramount Center. General admission is $10. 

5. Weather: The National Weather Service is predicting a great looking Friday. It’s going to be sunny with a high of 80. There’s a slight chance of rain after 3 a.m., temperatures will lower to 62.
