Swan Boats Reopen for the Season at Public Garden Saturday
The Boston Public Garden's iconic swan boats will set sail again Saturday, April 16, accompanied by Mayor Marty Walsh for their first trip.

Boston, MA - The Boston Public Garden's iconic swan boats will again set sail Saturday, accompanied by Mayor Marty Walsh on their maiden voyage.
Designated a historic landmark in 2011, the boats have been operated by the same family since 1877, and are now under fourth generation ownership. The swans paddled into their 140th season with Boston's mayor on board for a ceremonial first ride at 10 a.m. Saturday. Students from Roxbury's Ellis Mendell Elementary School and the Higginson/Lewis K-8 School will be joining him.
The Public Garden Lagoon has been refilled and the boats have slowly been assembled over the course of this week. They'll be sailing in time for the Boston Marathon Monday.
