5 Things: A Moment of Silence, a Public Meeting and More

Bedford observes a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings, a School Committee meeting and more in Bedford on April 23.


1. Bedford's Moment of Silence:
Β Bedford participated inΒ a statewide moment of silence at 2:50 p.m. on Monday, one week later to the minute from the first explosion that rocked the finish line of the Boston Marathon.Β Bedford Patch participated in the moment of silence at First Parish Unitarian Universalist where bells rang out from the church tower in honor of the victims of the bombings.

2. Bedford Schools Respond to a Tragedy: School was back in session Monday after a week of vacation, and educators were ready to address the bombings at the Boston Marathon in their classes. Each school responded differently according to the age of the students, with moments of silence being held at Bedford High School and John Glenn Middle School. 3. Today in Public Meetings: The only public meeting scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, according to the town website, is School Committee at 7:30 p.m. Β
