• Town Demolishes Garages on Springs Road (thebedfordcitizen.org) — Bedford has demolished the aging garages at 190 Springs Road and is replacing them with six new bays for town departments, funded through Community Preservation money approved at Town Meeting. The project, tied to the historic Bedford VA property, caps a year of several notable demolitions around town, including sites on Shawsheen Road and Loomis Street.
   

• Major Mass. company behind Roomba files for bankruptcy, selling after 35 years (masslive.com) — A major Bedford-based employer, iRobot, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and agreed to be sold to its primary manufacturer, Picea, after 35 years in business. The Roomba maker says it will keep operating, maintain product support, and continue its development plans while restructuring, following years of rising competition, debt, and a terminated acquisition deal with Amazon.
   

• Healey Demands ICE Stop Deportations From Massachusetts (wbsm.com) — Flights deporting immigration detainees are reportedly leaving from Hanscom Airfield in Bedford, and Governor Maura Healey is urging federal officials to stop using private planes there for removals. Her letter argues the rapid transfers undermine access to lawyers and family, while ICE defends its recent enforcement sweeps and highlights serious criminal charges among many detainees.
