Police Log: A Computer Glitch at the Post Office

Thursday, March 28

6:54 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting vandalism to a piece of construction equipment at the pumping station at 100 Shawsheen Road. An officer responded and spoke with the reporting person and surveyed the damage.Β

9:18 a.m.- Police received a call from a patron of the Post Office reporting the building is locked, and there is a sign on the front door which said they were dealing with a "computer glitch." The caller said he thought this was suspicious and was worried for the people inside. The responding officer confirmed the postal workers inside were working and their computer system was down.Β 

12:23 p.m.- A caller reported illegal dumping in the dumpsters at Bedford Village. The responding officer reported he helped management identify the party responsible for the dumping. The manager reported he would seek a no trespass order against this person.

3:31 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a loud bang in near 243 Concord Road. The responding officer reported the bang was a result of a bus tire blowing out. The bus was pulled off the road and was waiting for assistance.

4:07 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a car crash with injury at 214 Great Road. The responding officer reported one person was transported to Lahey Clinic by ambulance.Β 

10:44 p.m.- A caller reported two black labs wearing red collars with tags were missing out of Lexington.
