Police Log: A Hectic Yard Sale

Saturday, April 6

7:27 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting a yard sale near 261 Old Billerica Road with cars parked on both sides of the street. The caller reported the yard sale was causing a traffic hazard, and one car could barely get by at once. The responding officer reported the cars were not causing a hazard.Β

8:47 a.m.- Police received another call reporting a traffic hazard near 261 Old Billerica Road due to the yard sale. The responding officer reported there was no traffic hazard.

10:52 p.m.- Police received a call from a resident of 261 Old Billerica Road reporting the sale was not at his house, but a neighbors. The caller reported there were at least 20 cars stuck, beeping their horns. An officer reported several people were trying to direct people where to park, but were being ignored. A detail officer was requested, and several officers helped clear the area.Β

11:36 a.m.- A caller reported smoke in the area of Renzo's Salon. The Bedford Fire Department located an outdoor fire at 1 Green Street. It was a non-burn day and the homeowner extinguished the fire.Β 

11:58 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a hit and run crash at John Glenn Middle School.

2:11 p.m.- Billerica Police requested Bedford Police keep an eye out for a female party on foot out of Billerica heading for Bedford. The individual was located prior to entering Bedford.Β 

8:38 p.m.- An individual came into the police station to report a hit and run crash that had occurred at Great Road and Brooksbie Road.Β
