Police Log: A Shoplifter at T.J. Maxx

Wednesday, March 13

2:12 a.m.- An officer reported he located an intoxicated male staggering in the road near 1 Old Billerica Road. The officer reported he transported the individual back to his residence and no further police action was required.Β

2:30 a.m.- An officer reported a large pothole in the area of 7 Brooksbie Road. DPW was notified.

9:18 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from a motorist reporting he had observed the operator of a red Ford Focus assault an individual in the back seat of the vehicle while driving on Route 95 north in Lexington. The caller reported he followed the vehicle, which turned onto Oak Park Drive. Officers responded.Β

9:47 a.m.- Police received a call from a motorist reporting another vehicle had been tailgating them since they exited Route 3. The responding officer reported he stopped the vehicle on Shawsheen Road at Great Road and adviced the operator of the vehicle to drive more cautiously.

12:56 p.m.- Police received several calls reporting a utility vehicle parked on Shawsheen Road causing a hazard. Responding officers spoke with the Verizon workers on the scene who reported they would only be working for five minutes longer.

7:39 p.m.- A caller reported a car accident with no injuries near 199 Great Road. The responding officer reported he assisted the operators in exchanging information.

8:05 p.m.- Police received a call from a security officer at T.J. Maxx reporting a instance of shoplifting. The responding officer reported the individual was travelling north on North Road. Billerica Police were notified and stopped the individual's vehicle on Baldwin Street in Billerica. The responding officer reported Shadon Carter of 803 Barbery Street, Brooklyn, New York was placed under arrest for larceny.Β 

10:23 p.m.- An officer reported the odor of natural gas in front of 281 Great Road. National Grid was notified and responded.Β
