Police Log: Bedford Man Arrested For Assault and Battery

Sunday, March 17

3:19 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from an employee of the Shell station on Great Road reporting a group of intoxicated males behaving belligerently and refusing to leave the property. The responding officers reported two of the group were intoxicated and were attempting to locate a hotel. The officers directed the group to the Bedford Plaza Hotel, where they spent the rest of the night. 

3:56 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a suspicious black vehicle sitting in front of 11000 Avalon Drive. The responding officer reported the vehicle was gone upon arrival, and the caller was advised of the same. 

4:53 a.m.- An officer reported observing a vehicle parked on Route 3 north prior to exit 26. The officer reported the vehicle was unoccupied and that there was cash strewn over the passenger seat and center console. State Police were notified. The officer later located the owner of the vehicle walking near 19 Crosby Drive to get gas. The officer provided him a ride to get gas and then back to his vehicle.

10:28 a.m.- An officer reported a water problem on Old Billerica Road near Noreen Drive. The Water Department was notified and reported it was ground water seeping through the ground and onto the roadway and that nothing could be done about it.

2:19 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a car accident on Shawsheen Avenue just off Great Road. One operator was issued a written warning by the responding officer. 

3:11 p.m.- An individual requested an officer check the well-being of a 15 year old male at 40 Genetti Circle. The responding officer reported this was a domestic problem and that the boy was transported to the police station. The boy was transported to Emerson Hospital by ambulance. 

4:01 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a disturbance between housemates at 445 Concord Road. 

4:28 p.m.- Police received a call reporting vandalism to trees near Shawsheen Reservoir at 1 Shawsheen Road. DPW was notified. 

5:34 p.m.- A resident of 10 Winchester Drive reported a harassing and threatening phone message. 

10:24 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a domestic disturbance in the parking lot of Carleton Willard Village at 100 Old Billerica Road.

11:19 p.m.- BPD officers reported they were en route to the Watertown Police Department to place Thomas Baxter of 40 Genetti Circle in Bedford under arrest for assault and battery. Officers reported Baxter was transported back to the Bedford Police Department.
