Police Log: An Arrest for Shoplifting at Northside Convenience

Monday, April 8

7:33 a.m.- An employee of the Bedford Board of Health reported the strong odor of natural gas in Town Center. Responding emergency personnel reported a pilot light had gone out on a stove. Facilities was notified.Β

7:41 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from Northside Convenience reporting they had a shoplifter at their store. Officers responded to the Bedford Motel in order to locate the individual. Heather Lynch, of 50 Water Street in Medford, was placed under arrest for shoplifting.Β 

12:09 p.m.- A caller reported that while on Loomis Street, the lights on Loomis Street turned green while the lights for Great Road were still green. The caller reported this was creating a traffic hazard. The responding officer observed the lights and reported they were functioning properly.

12:58 p.m.- The Bedford Fire Department received a call reporting a wire down near 278 Old Billerica Road. Responding emergency personnel reported it was a Verizon wire that was disconnected and that Verizon would be contacted.Β 

2:41 p.m.- Police received a call from a motorist reporting a dog locked in a vehicle with the windows rolled up at CVS. The responding officer located the owner of the vehicle and informed them of the dangers of leaving an animal in a car with the windows up.Β 

4:18 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a loose brown and black miniature pincher with a collar on it in the area of Great Road and Shawsheen cemetary. The animal control officer checked the area and found nothing.Β
