Police Log: Asleep at the Library

Tuesday, March 12

12:02 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call from an alarm company reporting an alarm had been set off at the Bedford Free Public Library in the lobby. Responding officers reported they found a male inside the library who stated he fell asleep, had woken up when his friend arrived and he tried to exit the library. The alarm was tripped when he attempted to leave the library. Both parties were sent on their way.

6:33 a.m.- Police received a report of the odor of natural gas in front of 5 Springs Road. Bedford police and fire officials responded and reported there was the minor odor of natural gas at that address. National Grid was notified and responded.Β 

7:28 a.m.- A resident of 45 Springs Road called police to report they had found a loose greyhound. The caller agreed to hold onto the dog until the owner was located. The owner called shortly after and was given the information to retrieve her dog.Β

5:06 p.m.- BPD received a call from the State Police requesting an ambulance respond to a car crash with injuries on Route 3 north prior to exit 26. The individual involved in the crash signed a patient refusal form.

5:59 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a motor vehicle crash on Railroad Avenue at South Road. Responding officers reported the vehicles were gone upon arrival.

6:05 p.m.- Police received a call from the Burlington Police Department reporting a car crash without injury in front of 201 Burlington Road.

6:13 p.m.- A resident of 283 South Road called police to report wires down across their driveway. The responding officers reported it was a cable wire and it was removed.

6:34 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a vehicle parked in a dangerous spot behind Zwickers on North Road. The responding officer spoke with the owner of the vehicle who agreed to move it.Β
