Police Log: Loose Chickens on Great Road

Tuesday, March 5
8:54 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting a car crash on Burlington Road at Route 3. The responding officer reported a tow truck was called.Β

9:23 a.m.- An officer reported another car crash on Burlington Road at Route 3. The officer reported the two individuals exchanged papers and left the scene before he arrived in the area.
11:07 a.m.- Police received a call reporting a lost key somewhere on Great Road between South Road and Great Road Shopping Center. The caller reported the key was a single key for a Subaru on a black key fob.Β

2:04 p.m.- A caller reported chicken in the middle of Great Road near Gray Terrace. The responding officer reported he located the chickens going up Gray Terrace and that they weren't a hazard at this time.
3:18 p.m.- BPD received a call from the State Police requesting assistance with a car crash on Route 3 northbound near Route 62. the responding officer reported the accident occurred at Route 62 and Crosby Drive.
3:33 p.m.- Police received another call reporting chickens in the road near Gray Terrace. The responding officer reported he spoke with the owners of the chickens at 384 Great Road, who reported he would keep a better eye on them from then on.
4:46 p.m.- A caller reported water bubbling up from the ground near 165 Hartwell Road. DPW was notified and reported they were aware of the bubbling, and that it was the drainage system.Β
7:28 p.m.- Police received a call reporting a traffic complaint of a tractor trailer parked in front of a garage at 4000 Thompson Farm. The responding officer reported the truck was parked on a side road, out of the way. There was no traffic hazard.
7:43 p.m.- Police received a call from an employee of the Bedford Free Public Library reporting a dog outside the door of the library. Prior to an officer arriving, the employee called back to report the owner had showed up and taken the dog away.
