Police Log: Unruly Solicitors and a Domestic Disturbance

The following information was provided by the Bedford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

 

Tuesday, Feb. 12

5:58 a.m.- The Bedford Police Department received a call reporting a van stopped on Crosby Drive at Burlington Road with operator apparently sleeping behind the wheel. The responding officer checked the area, but did not find the vehicle.

7:02 a.m.- Police received a call from the custodian at Davis Elementary School reporting two college-aged males playing basketball in the gym before the school opened. The responding officer stopped their vehicle on Concord Road and informed the two individuals they were not allowed to use the gym without permission. 

12:44 p.m.- A customer at CVS called police to report a 40 to 50 year old white male wearing a full length black pea coat yelling at people in the drive thru. The responding officer reported he spoke with the individual who attends a program at Elmbrook Place. The officer went to Elmbrook to speak with the staff.

1:00 p.m.- Police received a call from a motorist reporting a parking hazard at the intersection of Wayte Road and Hancock Street, a a gray SUV parked in the roadway. The responding officer reported he spoke with the owner of the vehicle, a resident of Hancock Street, who reported he was shuffling cars around in his driveway, and would move the vehicle from the road shortly. 

1:02 p.m.- A caller at Ashby Place reported she heard a female crying and screaming for a half hour. The responding officer reported he spoke with the resident, who said she had received an upsetting phone call. 

5:57 p.m.- A resident of Genetti Circle reported a solicitor for Comast, a male, approximately 25 years old, wearing dark clothing, was banging on his door. The responding officer located the solicitors, and advised them to leave the area, and that they need to register with the town before soliciting.

11:03 p.m.- BPD received a call from the State Police reporting they had received a call from 5 Kendall Court with a male and female yelling in the background. BPD subsequently received a separate call from the female resident of 5 Kendall Court reporting her husband had fled in a gray Honda Accord.
