Road Closures Due to Pole Capping Day
April 6 is Pole Capping day in Bedford, and several roads around town will be closed during the ceremony.

Bedford's annual Pole Capping ceremony will take place Saturday at Wilson Park at 10:30 a.m., and several roads around town will be closed to traffic to accommodate the ceremony.Β

Great Road:
Traffic heading west towards the Town Common will be stopped at South Road and Springs Road. In addition, traffic onto Great Road from Elm Street, Fletcher Road and Mudge Way will also be blocked.

North Road:
Traffic heading south on North Road heading towards Burlington and Lexington will be detoured onto Pinehill Road. Traffic heading south on North Road heading toward Carlisle and Concord (through Carlisle) will be detoured onto Carlisle Road. No traffic will be allowed through to Great Road or Concord Road and all traffic will be stopped prior to Wilson Park.
Carlisle Road:
Traffic heading south on Carlisle Road heading towards Bedford Center will either be detoured onto North Road or stopped just prior to Wilson Park depending on your destination. No traffic will be allowed through to Great Road or Concord Road.
Concord Road:
Traffic heading north on Concord Road towards Bedford Center will be detoured onto McMahon Road unless you live on Concord Road, Davis Road or Avalon Drive or are heading to the High School or Library using their rear entrances. No traffic will be allowed onto Great Road and will be stopped prior to Wilson Park.

Police officers will be located at each traffic barricade to provide instruction and directions, andΒ detour signs have been placed along the routes and at street intersections around town.
