Students Awarded at MCC’s Fall 2025 Scholarship Ceremony

During the Fall 2025 Scholarship Ceremony, Middlesex Community College students received financial awards to help them afford the costs of attending college. A total of $133,300 was awarded to 80 students at the event held on MCC’s Bedford Campus on Thursday, November 6.

“I feel truly honored and grateful to receive this scholarship,” said Zinnat Ferdausy, an MCC Early Childhood Education student, of Lexington. “It means so much to me as a student, a mother, and an educator in training. This award encourages me to keep moving forward and reminds me that my hard work is making a difference. The scholarship will help relieve some financial pressure and allow me to focus more on my studies and classroom experience. MCC has given me the confidence and support I needed to return to school after several years.”

Ferdausy received the Alam Bangladesh Award. The scholarship was created by Mashu and Abu Alam in support of MCC students who are from Bangladesh or who have parents or grandparents from Bangladesh.

At Middlesex, Ferdausy believes she is growing on both a professional and personal level. From supportive professors and advisors to comprehensive coursework, MCC is helping Ferdausy follow her passion for making a positive difference on the lives of her own students.

Led by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, scholarships are funded by generous donors, including memorial donations, local businesses, private foundations and private donors. The 94 scholarships ranged from $500 to $7,000 and were handed out to students from 29 cities and towns in Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

“The Fall Scholarship awards ceremony is one of the most meaningful events at MCC,” said Barbara Maglio, MCC’s Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving. “It's a time for us to gather and celebrate all our Fall Scholarship recipients while expressing gratitude to the generous donors who make MCC Foundation scholarships possible. Most of our students wouldn't have the opportunity to earn a degree without an MCC Foundation scholarship, and I am proud to be part of the program that helps our students reach their goals and start careers with limited college debt.”
