VIDEO: Bells Ring Across Bedford In Memory of Marathon Bombing Victims

Church bells chimed across town at 2:50 p.m. in honor of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

At 2:50 p.m. on April 22, one week to the minute from the detonation of the first bomb at the Boston Marathon, bells chimed from the tower of Bedford's First Parish Unitarian Universalist, honoring the four lives lost in the wake of the bombings and the ensuing search for the two suspects in the attack.Β 

The church's sign had a message from 8-year-old Martin Richard, who died in the attacks at the Boston Marathon:Β

"No more hurting people. Peace."

The moment of silence was observed statewide, and bells across Massachusetts rang out following the moment of silence in honor of the victims of the attacks and their families.Β
