When Is the Special State Primary Registration Deadline?

The special state primary is April 30, and the deadline to register to vote in the primary is fast approaching.

The Bedford town elections that came and went last month were the first in a series of elections that will take place in town in 2013.Β 

A special state primary and a special state general election are also on the horizon due to theΒ Β U.S. Senate seat that opened with John Kerry’s appointment as Secretary of State.

The special state primary will be held Tuesday, April 30, which means the deadline to register to vote in the primary is next Wednesday, April 10. Voter registration deadlines are always 20 days prior to local, state and national elections.Β 

If you're unregistered, you can register at the Town Clerk's office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

On the date of the deadline, April 10 you can register at the Bedford Police Department from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m after the Town Clerk's office closes.

Mail-in voter registration affidavit forms are available online on the Secretary of State's website:Β http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/eleifv/howreg.htm.

The special state primary election will be held Tuesday April 30 with all precincts voting at John Glenn Middle School, and polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
