Belmont House Fire Displaces 5 Tenants

BELMONT, MA — A house fire in Belmont displaced five tenants Wednesday night, the fire department announced in a news release Thursday.

The fire was reported on Belmont Street at 8:43 p.m., when fire crews found heavy fire coming from the top floor, the department said.

The fire was brought under control around 10 p.m. and there were no injuries, though five tenants were displaced, Belmont Fire said.

The American Red Cross has been brought in to assist the displaced residents. The origin and cause of the fire are under investigation, according to the department.
