5 Things You Need to Know Today: February 20

Trash and mosaics and bridge and gardens.

1. One final reminder: trash pick-up has been delayed a day due to the Washington Birthday holiday. Today, Wednesday, is actually Tuesday, according to the garbage collection calendar. 

2. With the February school vacation underway, the Beech Street Center has a fun program for teens and seniors as it brings back an art form developed in ancient Greece with a Mosaic Art Class from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Enjoy the timeless craft of making mosaic tiles. Learn how to assemble small pieces of colored ceramics, glass, stone beads, shells and other found objects to create mosaic tiles. All experience levels are welcome. Open to seniors and teens. Th instructor is Stacey Hammerlind, RN, from Waverly Arts, a group which highlights local arts. Cost is $5 per class.

3. Belmont Garden Club monthly meeting will be held in the Belmont Public Library's Assembly Room from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

4. Duplicate Bridge Club meets from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Beech Street Center at 266 Beech St. Every Wednesday the club holds American Contact Bridge League-sanctioned games. All are welcome to play. Cost is $5. Phone: 339-223-6484 for more information.
