5 Things You Need to Know Today: March 7
LEGO Club at the library, Band concert at the Chenery, new exhibit at the Gallery of Art.

1. Does your child love LEGOS? If your child is in kindergarten through the second grade? Then sign up for today's Belmont Public Library's LEGO club! Members will be able to create their own unique LEGO structures and show off photos of them on the Children's Room 'LEGO Wall of Fame.' Due to popular demand, there will be two sessions: 3:15 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Sign-up is required. Stop by the Children's Room or call 617-993-2880 to sign up. Hurry! Space is limited.
2. The Chenery Middle School is holding its 7th and 8th Grade Band Concert tonight in the Middle School auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

The Belmont Gallery of Art presents Richard Hill’s “Joint Show with Myself – Collective Iconographies and Story Paintings,” an exhibit features 40 vibrantly colored acrylic paintings from Hill’s collection of iconic portraits assemblages as well as pieces from his story paintings that combine and re-imagine narrative stories incorporating ancient myths, folk tales and legends. 4. Educators from all schools: Belmont Day School, 55 Day School Ln., is holding an informal evening sponsored by the school's Peers Forum for teachers to share questions, challenges, highlights, teaching strategies, stories, and inspiration while connecting with colleagues from around the area. This evening's topic is "Classics and Literature in the Classroom." Join us for a complimentary dinner and refreshments, round-table discussions, lesson exchanges, and a chance for ongoing contact. 5. Infant Lapsit Storytime is for infants and pre-walkers who will enjoy songs, finger plays, and rhymes chosen especially for the Belmont Public Library's littlest readers. From 10:30 a.m. in the Flett Room across from the Children's Room.
