Belmont Democrat Delegates Convention Bound

Town Democrat party seek High School students to attend Youth Convention in July.

Belmont Democrats came together on Saturday, March 9, at Belmont Town Hall for their annual caucus to elect delegates to the Massachusetts Democratic Convention.  

Seventeen-elected delegates, three alternates and five ex-officio delegates will be representing Belmont including Anne Mahon, Linda Levin-Scherz, Karen Freidberg, Jeanne Mooney, Laurie Graham, Helen Bakeman, Barbara Miranda, Debbie Deutsch, Marty Cohen, Wayne Mesard, James Greene, Jeff Levin-Scherz, Michael McNamara, Steve Klionsky, Joel Semuels, Tony Alcorn and Jim Staton; Ted Dukas, Susan Brownsberger and Rich Waring; and Will Brownsberger, Lois Pines, Sallye Bleiberg, John Buckley and Trish Lohmar. 

The Massachusetts Democratic Platform Convention will be held Saturday, July 13 at the Tsongas Center Arena in Lowell.

New this year is a Youth Convention for High School students immediately following the Platform Convention. Attendees of the Youth Convention will receive a Guest Floor Pass to the Platform Convention and will attend specialized breakout sessions for Young Democrats immediately following the business of the convention. 

The application process for the Youth Convention closes at midnight, March 31.
