Greasy cookin'
March 31 – At 10:23 in the morning, a fire engine was sent to a Chester Road residence for a grease fire. The blaze was contained to wall oven.

April 3 – Just after half past 6 a.m., Engine 1 rushed to the apartment building on Trapelo Road in Cushing Square for a reported outside fire. The crew discovered smoldering mulch near the front entry. Engine 1 used the front jump line to extinguish and overhaul the area.
Power but no cable

April 5 – Sometime after 7 p.m., Engine 1 was sent to Beech Street for a report that power lines had fallen down onto the ground. The crew found outside wires lying in the driveway yet the homeowner said he had normal power in the house. A crew from the Belmont Municipal Light Department respond to the scene and said the down wire was for the cable television. The homeowner told the firefighters that he will contact his cable company and have them respond to fix the cable wire.
Fender bender
April 6 – At a quarter 'til 5 p.m., all available fire equipment were sent to a Walnut Street two family after a call came in concerning smoke coming from the building. Fire crews discovered that an oil-fired heating boiler was malfunctioning. The area was ventilated, the heating system shut down and red tagged. Before the crews got to the house, Engine 1 was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident. Thankfully, there were no injuries. Area ventilated, heating system shut down and red tagged.
