Belmont in Final Days of Library Card Challenge
Competition is very close with Arlington, Lexington and Somerville on who can sign-up

The Belmont Public Library is in the final days of its competition with three neighboring libraries and it needs your help.
At the beginning of the month, the Arlington library director, Ryan Livergood, challenged Belmont’s library director, Maureen Conners, as well as neighboring libraries in Lexington and Somerville to see who can register the most new library cards during the month of February (percentage increase over February 2012).
The objective of the challenge is to reach out to citizens who do not already have a library card.

And according to librarians, Belmont has a good shot to win so they are asking residents to come in and get themselves and their friends and relatives signed up by Thursday, Feb. 28.
New library card registrants can look forward to incentives such as buttons, tote bags, mouse pads, bookmarks, and the like when they sign up. These new card holders will be entered in the grand prize drawing for a Kindle Fire HD. Current card holders who bring a friend to sign up for a new card may also enter the drawing! Sign up for a new card online.

The Belmont Public Library would like to win this challenge but it needs your help. Ask all your friends if they have a library card. If they do not, ask them to visit the Belmont Library and sign-up for one during the month of February.
And if your child can write his/her name, come on in and sign them up!
You do not have to be a Belmont resident to sign up for a Belmont Library Card as long as you do not have a Minuteman Card.
