Belmont Media Center Wins Regional Award for Election Coverage

Won first prize for coverage of November's election,

Congratulations go out to everyone at BMC: staff, members, volunteers and local journalists, and a Belmont High School graduate turned political consultant for winning First Place for election coverage in the 15th Annual Alliance for Community Media-Northeast Region Video Festival.

Competing with more than 200 access TV centers in New England from Manhattan to Bangor, BMC's hyper-local live coverage: Election Belmont 2012 took the top award in the professional category for elections and issues.

Thanks go to Carol Yelverton for anchoring the coverage, and to Paul Roberts (Blogging Belmont), former state rep. Anne PaulsenTomi Olson, Belmont Patch, Town Clerk Ellen O'Brien Cushman, and BHS graduate Andrew Feldman, who reported live from Washington, D.C. and gave a near perfect analysis of local and national issues: unscripted.
