Belmont Police Apprehend Suspect Connected with Rash of Home Break-Ins

Police believe the suspect and accomplices played a "major role" in the recent spike in residential burglaries throughout the region.

Belmont Police officers arrested a Watertown man Monday, April 1, which area police departments believe played a "major role" in the recent rash of home break-ins in Belmont and neighboring towns. 

Earlier on Monday, a witness identified a gray Audi at a Lexington home break-in. Local detectives from several police departments identified Azad Terzian of Watertown as a possible suspect in the crimes who is known to drive an Audi.

With this information, Belmont officers were able to locate and stop Terzian. After positive witness identification Terzian was placed under arrest without incident. After being booked by Belmont Police, Terzian was sent to Watertown.

During an inventory of Terzian’s vehicle items from the house break in Lexington were recovered.

“We are alleging that this suspect and his accomplices have played a major role in the recent spike of residential burglaries throughout the region and we are happy that he has been apprehended,” said Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan.
