• Belmont High School Sports Wrap — Week in Review (Dec. 11 to Dec. 16) (belmontvoice.org) — Belmont High athletes just wrapped a busy week, from basketball openers against Watertown to the first regular-season hockey game at the new Skip Viglirolo rink. Local teams in hockey, swimming, wrestling, skiing, cheer and basketball are all launching their winter campaigns, giving Belmont families plenty to follow as home openers and early-season meets arrive. 
• LEGO Robotics Team Wraps First Season With Ringing Success (belmontvoice.org) — A Belmont-based First LEGO League team just finished its first season with a strong qualifier performance and a robot design award, built on months of trial-and-error back home. Coaches say the kids’ persistence, teamwork and coding skills reflect a growing local robotics community, where Belmont teams regularly visit one another’s practices and plan to return even stronger next year.
