• December 12 2025 Public Notices (belmontvoice.org) — Belmont’s Zoning Board of Appeals will hold hybrid public hearings on January 5, 2026 to consider several special permit requests affecting homes on Oak Avenue, Thomas Street, and Van Ness Road. Projects include additions, porches, decks, and a hot tub, all needing relief from lot coverage, setback, or expansion rules that nearby neighbors may want to review or comment on. 
• Harvard Presents Brighton Street Overlay Findings (belmontvoice.org) — Belmont officials are exploring a new zoning overlay for the Brighton Street corridor to grow the town’s commercial tax base, following a similar proposal in Belmont Center headed for a March Town Meeting vote. Harvard Kennedy School students gathered resident and developer input on desired amenities, traffic concerns, and transit-oriented development, highlighting interest in restaurants, shops, and better transit while debating building heights, parking, and affordable housing.
• Marauder of the Week for Dec. 12, 2025 (belmontvoice.org) — Belmont High School is spotlighting three students as Marauders of the Week, highlighting their favorite classes, key teachers, and standout activities at BHS. From founding Students for Palestine to leading the Belmont Aerospace Student Society to a nationals win, these short profiles give a snapshot of what motivates and inspires current Belmont teens.
