Team Tagg: Dad Mitt Romney Joining Son's Lexington Investment Firm
Belmont residents partner up in Lexington-based private equity Solamere Capital.

Usually it's the son who follows the father into the family business.
But for the Belmont Romney's, it's dad who is joining junior in his shop.
South Cottage Road and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney will likely be sticking around his hometown as he is joining Lexington-based Solamere Capital, the five-year-old private equity firm company started by his eldest son, Tagg who lives on Greensbrook Way.

And Mitt will not have to work his way up the corporate ladder; he will serve as chairman of the firm's executive committee where his son is a managing partner, according to reports in the Wall Street Journal and NBC News.
Reports said adding the former Massachusetts governor and two-time presidential candidate will be a benefit to the young firm which had garnered $240 million since its founding, having invested $100 million.

Romney (pere) does come to Romney (fils) firm with a remarkable background in the field; Mitt made his name and fortune as one of the founders of Bain Capital, one of the nation's most successful investment companies raising $6 billion during his time at the firm.
Just how his new job will effect Mitt and his wife Ann's residency in their hometown for the past four decades is unknown – it's unlikely Tagg will make a Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer-like decision forcing Mitt to be in the Lexington office by 8 a.m. – but anything that keeps the couple in Belmont will make places like il Casale, the Romney's fav restaurant in town, very happy.
