The Essentials of Estate Planning, Teen Writing Workshops, Story Time at the Benton

Events occurring in Belmont on Oct. 12.

1. Remember that due to Monday's holiday, trash pickup is delayed by a day. So in the garbage collection universe, today is MONDAY!

2. The Belmont Public Library will be hosting an "Introduction to the Essentials of Estate Planning" with Peter Hoffman from 7:30 p.m. in the Assembly Room. No matter what  your life situation, you have estate planning needs that you owe yourself and your family to understand. As a Financial Planning Association member, Hoffman adheres to a strict Code of Ethics and brings unbiased advice to his clients. This free program is sponsored by the non-profit Financial Planning Association of Massachusetts as part of its mission to bring financial planning education to the public.

3. There will be both a Teen Writing Workshop (from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.) as well as and Teen Author Circle (8:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.)  for Upper Middle and High School students at the Belmont Public Library's Young Adults Room. Read more about these events and register for them: be aware that space is limited for both workshops.

4. Pre-School Storytime will be held at the Benton Library, Belmont's independent and volunteer run library, at 10:30 a.m. Stories and crafts for children age 3 to 5. Parents or caregivers must attend. Siblings may attend with adults. Registration is not required. The Benton Library is located at the intersection of Oakley and Old Middlesex.

5. The Belmont Public Library's Children's Room is holding Storytime for 2’s and 3’s. Due to overwhelming popularity, this storytime is offered both at 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Bring your little ones for stories, songs, and more. Both programs will take place in the Flett Room, across from the Children's Room.
