Town-Wide Meeting on Stress, Homework and Belmont Students
Open to all parents, discussion on impact of homework on student life at the High School at 8 p.m.

While not specifically addressed in the latest Youth Risk Behavior Study released in November last year, many of the troublesome activities taken by students in the Upper School at Chenery Middle School and Belmont High School – alcohol abuse, hurting themselves and thoughts of suicide – can be led back to the amount of stress many students feel they are under at highly competitive schools.
Tonight, Wednesday, April 10, at 8 p.m. in Peter Holland Library at Belmont High School, the Belmont High School Parent Teacher Organization is hosting a town-wide Open Discussion on the topic "Bringing Balance to Belmont: Homework and Stress at BHS, throughout Belmont Schools and Beyond."
The discussion will be facilitated by Belmont parent and science educator Dr. Alice Rushforth.

Join the PTO for what they hope will be a continuing dialogue in the community. They especially encourage parents of middle and elementary school students to attend this meeting to discuss the impact of homework on stress, learning and college readiness.
