Tricks Only: All Night Paving, Road Work in Belmont Center Begins Tonight
A fortnight of repaving, repairs from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
While Halloween is best know for tricks or treats, it will only be for former for residents and commuters driving through Belmont Center as two weeks of paving Concord Avenue and Leonard Street begins tonight, Oct. 31.
Beginning at 8 p.m., Concord Avenue from from Pleasant Street (where Belmont Police headquarters is located) up to the US Post Office at 405 Concord Ave. will be paved during the overnight hours until 5 a.m.
According to Peter Castanino, director of Belmont's Department of Public Works, the nighttime paving schedule "will help to limit the traffic and parking impacts that would otherwise occur during a daytime construction schedule."
