Water Main Renovation Work Now Underway in Belmont

The Water Division of the Belmont Department of Public Works has begun a new season in its Capital Improvement Program to renovate Belmont’s water distribution system.

Construction is now or will soon get underway along Grant Avenue, White Street (from Trapelo Road to Grant Avenue) and A, B and C streets.  

Construction will take place Monday through Friday, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Water Division will work to minimize the effect of construction operations in the neighborhoods as best as possible but they advise residents and commuters to be aware that they may experience travel delays when construction is in progress.  

The following streets are scheduled for water main replacement under this contract:

Hawthorne Street: Trapelo Road to Irving Street.                   

White Street: Trapelo Road to Grant Avenue.                

Irving Street                           

Harris Street                

Grant Ave                               

Cambridge Street                

A Street                                        

Davis Road                

B Street                                        

C Street                

Waverley Street from Trapelo Road to Harris Street.                                 

These renovations will allow the Water Division to continue to provide an ample volume of high quality drinking water to the residents and businesses of Belmont as well as improve water pressures and fire flows throughout the Town.
