Beverly Blizzard: What You Need To Know For Saturday's Storm
Mayor Mike Cahill on Friday asked residents to refrain from traveling during the height of the snowstorm.

BEVERLY, MA — Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill asked residents to refrain from traveling at the height of what was forecast to be one of the city's biggest snowfalls in years on Saturday.
"We need your full cooperation for this storm," Beverly Mayor Mike Cahill. "Please do not travel (Saturday). We do not need extra vehicles on the roadway while we are plowing. Cleanup will continue Sunday into Monday."
A snow emergency parking ban began at midnight for "up to 24 hours" but may be extended if necessary.

Municipal lots are available for those with no other accommodations. Meter fees must be paid during normal meter hours.
Short-term parking downtown will be allowed. Overnight parking will not be allowed.

Residents are asked to keep hydrants and catch basins clear of snow and not to shovel any snow into the street.
All basketball hoops should be removed from the street.
The Cabot Street Cinema Theater is closed Saturday with all shows postponed. If you purchased tickets for a Saturday screening of "The French Dispatch" you can swap them for a different day or request a refund. Email tickets@thecabot.org and let them know what you'd like to do.
National Grid and Eversource were preparing for the likelihood of power outages due to downed trees or limbs by positioning line and tree crews across the state – including hundreds on loan from other states.
Residents are advised to make sure cell phones and devices are fully charged in case of an outage.
