• Beverly Swim Coach Earns Prestigious Disability Coach Of The Year Award (patch.com) — Beverly residents can take pride in YMCA of the North Shore Sharks coach Dave Modzelewski, who just earned USA Swimming’s 2025 Jimi Flowers Disability Coach of the Year Award. Based in Beverly, he’s being recognized nationally for championing inclusion for swimmers with disabilities, from local programs to leading Team USA at major international Para competitions.
   

• Wednesday's area roundup: Another hat trick for Beverly's Bowen (cnhi.com) — Beverly High athletes had a strong night, with Logan Bowen’s hat trick leading the Panthers’ 5–2 boys hockey win over Amesbury and both boys and girls track teams splitting tight meets against Gloucester and Marblehead. • Obituary: Ralph Michael 'Bingy' Luongo, 87 (thereadingpost.com) — Beverly residents may know Ralph Michael “Bingy” Luongo through his son Gregg Luongo and partner Nicole Hendrickson, who live in the city. Ralph, 87, a longtime Wilmington resident with roots in Medford, passed away December 10 surrounded by family. He is remembered for his warmth, humor, love of tennis and golf, and deep devotion to his loved ones.
